New Energy
New energy refers to emerging energy sources other than traditional ones, including those still under development or in the early stages of adoption, such as solar, wind, geothermal, ocean, biomass, and nuclear fusion energy. The development of new energy typically relies on advanced technologies and innovative materials to enable modern utilization of renewable resources.
New energy types include solar photovoltaic and solar thermal, wind energy, biomass, geothermal, ocean waves and tidal energy, ocean currents, and ocean thermal energy conversion. Additionally, hydrogen, biogas, ethanol, and methanol are considered part of this category. In contrast, coal, oil, natural gas, and hydropower are classified as conventional energy sources. With growing environmental and sustainability requirements, new energy is increasingly important in the global energy mix.
